Flow not fixation
Your posture is telling a story, your story. If you are very aware and highly skilled that story may be synchronous with your aspirations, your best intentions and wishes for your future. Admittedly, sometimes that is not the case either for you or for me. Our habits, our slumping and submission to our limited understanding of gravity, pull us down and contradict our positive words and hopeful inquiry. The good news is that posture need not be permanent. It is uniquely responsive to our thinking. Thinking together, we can get you moving up through your solar plexus, revise your breathing, and make your posture responsive to your hopes and intent.
Working from the whole to the part we will overcome stiffening that may have been engendered from ill-framed advice. Straighten up. Stand up straight. Straighten up and fly right, etcetera. Working with the principles of Alexander Technique, we will substitute flow for stiffening, upward thinking for slumping, coordiantion of the whole for thinking in the part.
Accepting as truth that there is nothing either bad or good but thinking makes it so, we will change our thinking about our selves and see our thinking manifest in our posture. It's a given. Call for a lesson. A 45 minute session is $75, cheerfully and immediately refunded in kind if you do not experience positive change.
Alexander Life Hint
A daily hint to renew your thinking on Alexander Technique, inspire a class, or to change your day.
New every weekday!

Live in the letting, in your expansion. You contract for many reasons, crowding, perceived threat, verbal assault, pressures, unwelcome contact. You–turtle like–withdraw into your shell.
Come to you self. Claim the moment. Expand. Your torso doesn't need to colonize your extremities, your head, your legs, your arms. Liberate them. Let them away. Deliver the weight of your shoulders to the ground without slumping.
Your spine will welcome its job of supporting your head and shoulders. You can feel it. Let your neck deliver your head to the sky. Live in the along said poet Gwendolyn Brooks. Live in the letting. That’s more of Alexander Technique than you might expect.

The habits of a life-time can be bypassed and replaced in a moment. Let me show you how. You may call it miraculous.
The Alexander Technique could have been called a method. It is not.
Music and Alexander Technique are a natural alliance, a conjoined fluency that invites many, myself included to its teaching. Technique is art, skill, wholly divorced from the drudgery of method and system. Shakespeare had it right: “The play’s the thing.”
Music and Alexander Technique are the conjoined impetus of play.
These skills will forever alter the way you live, perform and play.
